| Mrs. MacGregor's Tea Room and Restaurant is the perfect spot to relax over a cup of tea or frothy cappuccino and let time just pass by for a little while. Delicious food, linen tablecloths, fine china and friendly smiles are all part of Mrs. MacGregor's wish to provide our guests with old-fashioned comforts and style, simple reminders of days gone by. Like a visit to your granny's, but not quite . . . | |
| Our luncheon menu is headlined with our homemade Scotch Broth and Mum's Chicken Soup, fresh salads, deli sandwiches, and light lunches such as Quiche Lorraine and our Chicken Club Wrap. Open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, our dinner menu offers a hearty Scots Meat Pie, a traditional turkey dinner, Indian Butter Chicken and Pan-Seared Haddock, as well as a Catch of the Day and featured special. Our dinner room is fully licensed, with a fine selection of wines and beers available to enjoy with your meal. And what's for dessert? Our sweets are all prepared from scratch in our bakery, and range from traditional Scottish Shortbread to the more decadent Millionaire's Shortbread, Red Planet Cheesecake and Butterscotch Pie, and of course, our "too good to be legal", share with no one, Sticky Toffee Pudding. |

Hollis Corbin and Helen Buchan look forward to welcoming you to Mrs. MacGregor's Tea Room and Restaurant the next time you visit Pictou. After many visits to Helen's mum and dad (long time residents of Pictou), Helen and Hollis decided to say good-bye to city life and settle down in Pictou themselves. The charm and natural beauty of the area lent itself easily to the couple's decision to open Mrs. MacGregor's Tea Room and Restaurant in Pictou. |
|
If you're wondering where the "MacGregor" comes from, Helen's full name is Helen MacGregor Buchan, being named for her mother. "The only thing Scottish about me is my wife!" says Hollis. And, as any Scot will tell you, being married to a Scot is the next best thing to being one!
